![]() ![]() ![]() You can change it in SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETTINGS > USB MODE." There is also an Auto-Defect, but I prefer to manualy set it in one or the other (depending on your needs). "Ususally when you see this, it’s because your player is in the wrong mode (MTP). I just want to listen to my books in the car…oh, and I am running Vista if that is important. If someone here can tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be so grateful. And the Sansa tech support has not been very understanding about this. That’s where I get stuck, as I get the “NO” symbol over the root directory when I try to drag and drop the BIN file. Because with a new baby, I have nothing better to do than mess around with this.)Īttempted to copy the firmware to the root directoty of the player. So, per their instructions, I have done the following:ĭownloaded the firmware then extracted it to my PC (I am supposed to try to reload the firmware 3x on my PC then once more for good measure on another PC. Sansa tech help sent me a link to this thread in the forum for the firmware updates. My SanDisk Fuze 8GB Player stopped working after about a month of use (Blank, white screen…I can turn it on and off, and the dial lights up, but that’s it.) and the instructions I have been given to troubleshoot before they will consider replacing it are, frankly, over my head. The devices are functionally the same, with the differences in the background.Hi - I signed up for this forum out of frustration/desperation. On the flip side, the Rev.2 Clip allows more cross-platform similarity between the Fuze and Clip as far as software, meaning development costs are reduced, and that’s the best of both worlds. Is it necessary for the majority of us who use the digital side of the device (remember those music files?) ? Your existing Fuze is no less wonderful than the later production unit. OOh, I really really need to see that information (that is, when the broadcaster properly implements it anyway). Say, for example, SanDisk changes the FM chip to the unit allowing RDS data. Some like mp3, some OGG, various bit rates, et cetera. The differences won’t be apparent to everyone, as we all use our devices a little bit differently. SanDisk has been “uncorking” many of the Fuze’s features with successive firmware revisions, and hardware differences do not affect every function of the unchanged processor. ![]() This is in comparison to the e200 series, as many of us started with these devices. I would strongly advise against running to the return counter, as the current Fuze performs admirably. We’ll see what the firmware upgrades bring in the next month or so. They won’t tell us, so the V2 MUST be better! -).Ĭouple that with the fact that in the right light, it looks like I have a little sunset reflecting on the left corner of my screen, and I feel like I’ve bought a dud. Honestly, just bought mine a week ago (Costco Black Friday), and the lack of clear knowledge about the differences between V1 and V2 have cast enough doubt that I want to return mine. They don’t want to cause a ‘return frenzy’ for their retailers, not do they want to alienate their customers by telling them essentially that they now own a 1 week old ‘obsolete’ and inferior product. Think about it the absolute last thing they want to happen is if they tell us exactly why the Rev.2 model is ‘better’ or ‘improved’ over the Rev.1, and everyone who just bought one of the now ‘older’ models rushes back to the store and returns them so they can then turn around and buy one of the updated ones. Regardless, I doubt whether we’ll hear the ‘whole story’ officially from SanDisk. But some could be ‘possible’ because of the new hardware, spurring the interest in knowing the differences in the new Fuze version. These however, may be optional differences written into the firmware rather than required changes due to different hardware. There are features included in the newer version that aren’t there in it’s predecessor. ![]() Actually, there are a number of functional differences between the v1 & v2 in the e200 series. ![]()
